Al-Hayer wetland reserve

Located in the south of Al-Hayer, which is on south of Riyadh,  Al-Hayer wetland has an area of ​​40 km2. It contains Al-Ha’ir Dam, which empties Wadi Hanifa,and is  a natural valley from which groundwater is used. The reserve contains different  types of birds  and visiting in different seasons of the year, such as herons, eagles, falcons, eagles, species of ducks, lunar and many birds and waterbirds. The reserve will contain many lakes and permanent water channels, as well as five artificial islands within these lakes.

Formerly known as Al-Thumama Park, King Khalid reserve is located in the northeast of Riyadh, specifically on the southeastern side of King Khalid International Airport. With an area estimated at more than 720 km2, The reserve is known for having a cohesive variety of sand and dunes, and many natural vegetation and local fauna from the feeder Wadi As Sulay that passes parallal to dunes such as Shoaib Abu Shajarah.

Rawdat Khuraim is a vast green area that stretches across the border of ad-Dahna Desert within the Governorate of Ramah , and has an area of ​​11,300 km2. Distancing approximately 100 km away from Riyadh’s northeastern side, and close to the center of Ghailana, and is characterized by its extension on the southwestern border of the Dahna Desert, 15 km north of Ramah. The reserve is considered to be a dense vegetated area consisting of trees and bushes and is the final destination to a number of valleys, the most important of which is Shuaib Al-Toki, Wadi Khoy and Thilan. It also has large rainwater storage basins and is a great destination for spring hikers.  Overseeing its development is an administrative body, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud

  • Located 185 km away from Riyadh in Ramah Governorate, Al-Tanhat is bordered by ad-Dahna Desert from the north and the east, and it is considered to be the final estuary of a number of valleys, most notably Al-Shoki Valley, Wadi Al-Atak and Wadi Al-Tiri, and it is considered one of the largest natural locations in the Kingdom, with an area of ​​more than 140 thousand km2. There are a number of population centers located around Al-Rawda, including Al-Hamisiya, Hafar Al-Atsh, Al-Hafina, and Ruwaigib, and is surrounded by a number of major populated areas, including Ramah and Al-Ramahiya from the south, and Tamir from the north, and a road branching from Al-Samman Road, and there are roads surrounding it from the west and south to connect it with the surrounding population centers.

 

 

  • Al-Khafs extends at the tip of the ad-Dahna Desert in the Governorate
  • of Huraymila, and it is located below the mountains of Al-Arma and in the valley between the mountains and Arq ar-Rathmah, it splits into two parts, the northern part and southern part, and is a final destination of valleys , the most important of which are Al-Tawqi, Dagla and Muharraq. The reserve is known for many plants, which includes Talh, Sidr, Chrysanthemum, Hallan and lavender, and the supervision of the development of the reserve is managed by an administrative body headed by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.
